In a statement posted to X yesterday, July 8th, the Dutch artist said that, after learning more about the background to the release, “it no longer feels right” to be involved. Stressing that he was “not taking sides or blaming anyone,” he said the remix would instead remain a “set-only track,” adding that “staying true to my values matters more to me than releasing a record.”

The announcement follows claims made by Summit, who accused Tong of repurposing a remix they had been developing together for a release credited to Tong and Rizardo. Summit alleged that Tong, who is yet to respond publicly, had promised to release their collaborative version on his label FFRR before using elements of his work on the new release. (Resident Advisor has reached out to all three artists.)

Rizardo said he remains proud of the remix and the response it has received in his DJ sets, but wishes “all parties involved nothing but the best” as the situation is resolved.
