Jade Harlow has been cast in a new recurring role on The Young and the Restless and will make her debut on Monday, August 10.
Harlow will portray Marie Kirkland, who is described as a woman “with a complicated past looking to make a fresh start in Genoa City.” The role is recurring.
Harlow is no stranger to daytime television. She got her big acting break in 2000 when she was cast as Jessica Bennett on Passions, replacing Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the role. She remained with the soap until 2003.

“It was a pop culture phenomenon at the time,” she recalled in a video interview with Chat Channel in 2023. “I didn’t know much about the show…. I went in, and I auditioned, and they give these things called breakdowns, which are, like, brief descriptions of the character. And this breakdown said, ‘Has not yet discovered boys or makeup,’ so I was like, ‘She’s a late bloomer.’ So, I went in, and I dressed like a tomboy, and I got a callback.” She was instructed to return looking more feminine, which she did, and won the role.
Reflecting on her experience on Passions, she added, “We did every rip [off] of every horror movie. We did The Exorcist. We did Poltergeist. You name it, we did it. My house sank into hell. We fought gargoyles. It was the oddest experience and nothing at all that you would expect to do on a soundstage in a daytime show…. We pushed the boundaries of what the world rules are.”
Her next daytime role was as Sheryl Connors on Days of our Lives, where she worked closely with Bryan Dattilo (Lucas Horton) and Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts), who is currently filling in as Jill Abbott on Y&R. Harlow revealed in the Chat Channel interview that she screen-tested for Days alongside Jen Lilley, who was ultimately cast as Theresa Donovan, and Chrishell Stause, who was hired as Jordan Ridgeway.
For the past 10 years, Harlow has starred as Lianna Ramos on the digital drama series, The Bay, which earned her a Daytime Emmy win as Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actress in a Digital Drama Series. She also won Emmys in 2015 and 2016 as a producer on the series for its Outstanding Digital Daytime Drama Series wins.

While appearing on The Bay, Harlow had the opportunity to work with Vivica A. Fox (Angela Foster), who recently returned to Y&R as Stephanie Simmons. In a Daytime Emmy red carpet interview with AfterBuzz TV in 2019, Harlow talked about working with Fox and A Martinez (Nardo Ramos; ex-Cruz Castillo, Santa Barbara). “I was super lucky this season getting to work with both of them,” she praised. “They’re incredible teammates, they show up to play, they’re so giving, and I feel like they should be here this year. They’re great to work with.”
Harlow’s other credits include Criminal Minds: Evolution, Christmas on the Ranch, FBI: International and Second Chances, which also starred AnnaLynne McCord (Cat Greene, Days of our Lives).
