Jezebel wrote an article on Swifties rushing to defend their billionaire idol after Steven J. Demetriou (the executive chair of Amentum which runs an ICE detention facility in the midst of a humanitarian scandal) was spotted at Travis and Taylor’s wedding.
It has been concerning to me all the people downplaying the conditions at Camp East Montana or blindly supporting Amentum just because the executive director went to Taylor and Travis’s wedding. So I included the lawsuit the Jezebel article briefly mentions for more background.
I saw a fan saying the dude didn’t run an ICE detention facility, that he was just hired to *improve* the conditions.
It’s embarrassing how much they defend a billionaire singer they’ll never, ever meet in their lifetime.

I’ve been a fan my whole life, and this is absolutely devastating and disgusting. Yes, maybe Taylor didn’t know that this person was even attending because of how big the wedding is, but her team should know better than to allow of these fucking MONSTERS within her vicinity.
They know that every media outlet is foaming at the mouth for any details over her wedding, and the fact that she hasn’t said anything about this or the White House’s use of her songs/eras tour poster speaks volumes

She only cares about herself and her pocket. The same fans rushing to defend their dear leader, fail to realize that she doesn’t give a shit about them and only cares about their wallets. The whole wedding was embarrassing. Inviting a Kushner, a guy who runs an ice facility, and domestic abuser Brad Pitt.
The only thing that gives me joy about the wedding was that she had the “JusT&T married” thing go up on that huge billboard as soon as they were done with vows, expecting a huge crowed out there to cheer and be lined up like she was princess diana, and absolutely no one gave a shit, no one was lined up and no loud cheers. I hope shes feeling embarrassed right now and realizes how sick of her shit and how sick of billionaires people are.

I’ve seen a lot of fans claim Amentum is helping the ICE detainees but I urge those fans to actually read the lawsuit filed on 5/26/2026 that outlined the inhumane conditions at the ICE camp and how those conditions are still ongoing.
