      Of all the movies that didn’t need be made, this didn’t need to be made the most.

      The Rock looks ridiculous in it. Like he’s wearing one of those spirit halloween muscle suits.

      The reason I am choosing not to see it is really because I don’t need to see The Rock doing the live action version.

      Had they got the entire original cast, sure. Just The Rock? No thanks.

      Also way too early to do a live action for a film that came out only ten years ago.

      Kermode and Mayo had it as their movie of the week, and noted it was the best remake yet by some margin due to the charisma of the lead and the just-as-amazing-as-last-time music.

      Pretty sure the internet hate squad is out to lunch on this one.

      The movie no one asked for doing what most think will be a poor imitation of a movie that isn’t that old is the movie no one went to see. Shocking.

      The original Moana is a fantastic movie but it definitely didn’t need to be remade so soon after its release.

      It’s doing much worse than live action Snow White which is incredible. At least Snow White had about 85 years before a remake but Moana had 10 years.

      This movie will do better than it has any right to do even if it tanks because it shouldn’t exist. I feel this way with a vast majority of Disney’s live-action remakes, but Moana in particular is such a weird choice. The movie is a few months shy of hitting 10 years old so it really isn’t in the nostalgia bait territory for people who were obsessed with it in childhood and that is what so many of Disney’s latest projects have cashed in on.

      Dwayne Johnson’s ego will be the death of him. Moana, Black Adam, John Cena’s retirement from pro wrestling. Such a shame.

      It’ll get streamed on Disney+ endlessly. I wonder how much that is worth to them?
