I dislike when a Tech company is failing and they buy the things that are working or are popular.

Isn’t it a conflict of interest for a media company like Netflix to buy a review site? It would be like if Amazon bought Rotten Tomatoes

Christ. Judging by what Amazon has done to IMDB, this would be the end of letterboxd

Great, I guess that means Paramount will own Letterboxd soon /s

Does anybody else remember when Netflix got rid of star ratings? I do. I had rated thousands of movies with their promise that it would help recommend movies that matched my taste. You could also have friends and see their watching activity; Netflix dropped that as well.
Someone explain to me why they wanna get back in the user review business, that is good for consumers and isn’t just more datamining.

Remember, there’s a seller in this potential transaction. Letterboxd needs some blame.

So Letterboxd sold itself to an investment company who is now potentially selling Letterboxd to Netflix, but somehow Netflix is the bad guy in this situation?

I just lost my TVtime app & now they’re going to make me have to cancel my LetterBoxd?!?
I guess I’m just gonna have to upload everything onto SIMKL or some similar app and get used to that. Ugh.

If Netflix does, I will genuinely stop using the app and just delete it.
