I’m going to need them to explain what about this idea is a “useful creative tool,” because what it actually is is creepy as fuck.

right because this was about providing people with “creative tools” and not about owning public content creators to the point that they are commodities. Fuck u mark u also look like u eat sand

Good. So sick of all this AI bullshit being touted as tools made for our benefit.

Meta AI had it in their policy to let children have adult conversations with AI bots. It’s not directly related to this, it’s just that not enough people know.
I can always count on the house that Zuck built to keep being terrible in new and horrible ways. Like HOW did no one take one look at that and think you know what I feel like this has no justifiable use case

It should’ve never been a feature to begin with

Seems like real incompetence to make this opt-out rather than opt-in and then be surprised by ensuing backlash

What the fuck happened to focus groups??? Do they not run these ideas by normal people anymore before rolling them out??

Good, now remove instants next.
EDIT: For my fellow boomers/millennials, there is a toggle to “turn it off” in the settings under content preferences but it *mysteriously* turns itself back on either by itself or when you somehow gesture where the instants normally are in your inbox– it doesn’t actually remove it, it just makes it invisible. 💀

Yeah bitches at Meta, everyone hates AI. Figure it out.

This is why I laughed when people flocked to threads for a while thinking it was a liberal safehaven. Zuck is just as bad as Musk, he’s just more subtle about it.

Sorry, can someone fill me in? What was this stupid feature supposed to do?

Bruuh if they want to help with creative tools, they should alter their algorithm to increase the visibility of emerging artists, especially those who sell their arts or commision their arts. So users can discover those artists, and hire them to create something.

meta is proof that big tech companies are inefficient monopolies that are failing to innovate. each new zuckerberg idea is worse than the last, and every popular feature has just been copied/acquired from other companies. we need more competition and actual innovation in the tech industry
anthraltacct on
Can these companies just fucking listen to what people want instead of trying to force shit because their egos are too big to admit they were wrong about their decisions? Social media is a fucking mess right now because they’re trying to implement AI into everything. Moderation, photos, bots, EVERYTHING.
Nobody wants this shit, but everyone keeps using the apps, so it’s a double sided problem. It’s just embarrassing at this point and once you see the men in charge of these companies, you realize why their sites are so fucking dumb, unusable, and boring. It matches their appearance and personalities.

I’m honestly so fucking shocked they listened to their userbase for once. Maybe they’re pulling out of the AI game and this is them “testing the waters” on the response to removing AI features?
*If so,* YES THANK YOU I LOVE YOU META THANKS FOR REMOVING A SHITTY AI FEATURE I FUCKING HATE AI.

They are still going to use your photos and videos for AI just not tell you.

“We’ve heard that this missed the mark” = “somehow we underestimated how many of you would hate this”
I cannot be convinced that they’re thinking anyone wants this. It’s an abuse/aggressively pushing boundaries tactic to see how much they can get away with, and even though they pulled it back, they have already begun the process of normalizing it.
