Beyond being royalty, the House of Windsor are a close-knit family and often step out to support each other’s engagements. Case in point? The Royal Charity Polo Cup in Windsor, where Prince William was cheered on by his wife, the Princess of Wales – and his cousin, Peter Phillips, who was joined by his new wife, Harriet Sperling.
Peter and Harriet, who tied the knot in a romantic Gloucestershire wedding in June, appear to be enjoying a blissful start to this new chapter of married life, stepping out for unmissable summer occasions like Royal Ascot and Wimbledon. On Friday it was an outing to Guards Polo Club, the storied institution that shares a close relationship with the royals and where Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, served as president for more than 50 years.
The Prince of Wales was competing in the Royal Charity Polo Cup which benefits organisations with close ties to the Prince and Princess of Wales. This year, the match raised vital funds for charities including the Wales Air Ambulance, The Royal College of Paramedics, Shout, Ty Hafan, Forward Trust, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Maternal Mental Health Alliance, We Are Farming Minds, The Passage, Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.
