The match raises vital funds for charities chosen by the Prince and Princess of Wales, including the Wales Air Ambulance, The Royal College of Paramedics, Shout, Ty Hafan, Forward Trust, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Maternal Mental Health Alliance, We Are Farming Minds, The Passage, Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.

2026 marks the 15th time that His Royal Highness will play in this polo match. The is set to take the total amount raised to more than £15 million for well deserving causes that the Prince and Princess are passionate about.

With so much goodwill behind the day, it makes sense the Princess of Wales would stop by. Guards Polo Club, where Prince Philip served as president for more than 50 years, is just a stone’s throw from the Waleses’ family home of Forest Lodge.

The Princess of Wales looked chic as she took in the action from the sidelines, accessorising her gingham dress with a classic pair of sunglasses, a stack of bracelets and statement earrings. Following the match, Catherine was called upon to take part in the prize-giving presentation. During the low-key ceremony she gave a kiss to her husband – a rare show of PDA from the usually reserved Waleses.

It marks the start of a busy sporting weekend for the Princess of Wales.

The Princess has served as patron of the All England Club since taking over from Queen Elizabeth II in 2016. In her role, she presents the trophies to the winners and runners-up in the Ladies’ and Men’s Singles Finals, which traditionally take place on the final Saturday and Sunday of the two-week competition.

Although typically accompanied by her husband, Prince William, in recent years, Catherine, 44, has made it a family occasion. Last year, the Prince and Princess of Wales were joined by Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The previous year, it was a mother-daughter day out on Centre Court.
