Last night, Conor McGregor returned to the UFC for his first fight in five years — but it wasn’t without controversy.The mixed martial artist remains a problematic figure after being found liable for sexually assaulting a woman, Nikita Hand, in a 2024 civil case. Nikita first made the claims in 2021, accusing Conor of assaulting her at a hotel in 2018, according to the New York Times. Conor denied the allegations. Prosecutors ultimately declined to bring forth criminal charges, but Nikita later won a civil suit against him, with a judge ordering Conor to pay over €248,000 in damages.

Because of that, plenty of people were disappointed — but not surprised — to see a number of celebrities turn up to Conor’s fight on Saturday.

“Literally the most unsurprising list of losers,” someone else said, as others pointed out how several guests have also faced their own controversies, including Mike Tyson’s history of abuse allegations, to Anthony, who has been scrutinized for large age-gap relationships.

So far, Conor has only addressed the fight itself, tweeting about being in a “dark” mood after getting the injury that ended the fight. But if he responds to the backlash over the celebrities who attended, we’ll let you know.
