Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kris Humphries, has turned in his basketball gear for fried chicken.

The former athlete, who was married to the reality star for 72 days in 2011, has lived his life outside of the limelight since retiring from the NBA in 2017 and now runs multiple Dave’s Hot Chicken franchises in Minnesota.

“Since I’ve stepped away from the game, I’m trying to stay under the radar and work on a new phase of my life,” he said, per the US Sun.

“I’ve been developing some business ventures,” he added.

Humphries, 41, opened his first franchise in his home state back in 2023, one year after he signed to launch 10 throughout Minnesota.

“I’m familiar with the area and went to Hopkins High School; we used to come over to the mall a lot after school,” the former basketball star told Fox 9 at the time.

“Since I’ve stepped away from the game, I’m trying to stay under the radar and work on a new phase of my life,” he said, according to the US Sun. (Seen here: Humphries feasting on chicken with an unidentified woman.) Instagram/krishumphries

“So I thought it would be cool to do the first one near where I used to go to school,” Humphries continued, also explaining that the area needed a hot chicken spot.

As of last September, he signed to open 30 locations across the Twin Cities, per the Business Journal.

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum has since turned his once active-themed lifestyle Instagram posts to focus on his business endeavors.

Humphries has also seemingly remained on the ground, active with his fast food chains, as he often shows himself in several stores and participating in hot chicken challenges.

The businessman was in the NBA for 13 seasons, starting when he signed with the Utah Jazz in 2004, leading to his final game with the Atlanta Hawks in 2017.

He was also famously known for dating Kardashian, now 45, in 2010 before getting married in August 2011.

In an unexpected turn of events, the exes split 72 days after saying “I do,” with the Skims founder later admitting that she knew it was over during their honeymoon.

“At the time … I just thought, ‘Holy s–t, I’m 30 years old, I better get this together. I better get married,” she told Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” in May 2017.

In 2021, Kardashian admitted she owed Humphries an apology for how she handled their separation, but shared he wouldn’t call her back.

The actress was also married to Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004, and Kanye West, with whom she shares four kids, from 2014 to 2022.
