Catherine, the Princess of Wales has always been known to be fashion-forward, but this time she has added a touch of sentimentality.

The 44-year-old has been spotted in recent weeks with a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it accessory on her wrist, courtesy of her daughter Princess Charlotte.

The 11-year-old reportedly made a friendship bracelet for her mum as a good luck charm as she completed the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge, keeping her company as she climbed three large mountains after her cancer recovery, becoming the first royal family member to do so.

But the future Queen has kept it on as a reminder of her daughter’s love, wearing the blue string bracelet to multiple events over the past few weeks.

The mother-of-three – who also shares Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, eight, with her husband Prince William – was photographed wearing the accessory at many important engagements.

After completing the mountainous challenge in late June, the Princess of Wales was seen with the blue string around her wrist on July 2, when she met with children from Shine Camera Club, and on July 6, when she visited the Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

The latest sighting was at Prince William’s annual charity polo match on July 10.

Despite the bracelet not at all matching her outfits, the future Queen kept it on with pride.

The one place she didn’t wear the string bracelet was during her two appearances at the Wimbledon tennis tournament.

On July 11, she wore a stunning red dress and one July 12 she followed it up with an elegant olive green number, but no friendship bracelet was in sight.

This may be due to Wimbledon’s more elevated profile and strict dressing rules, especially for royals.

However, in her latest appearance at the Wimbledon men’s finals, Kate didn’t need the reminder, as Charlotte was right by her side the entire time.

The family, sans Louis, attended the final game of this year’s championship, with Charlotte wearing a blue dress (just like her mum’s bracelet), while George and William looked spiffy in matching suits.

Kate is not the only royal family member to have received a handmade gift from the young Princess.

In 2024, Prince William was also seen sporting a blue friendship bracelet during his visit to South Africa for the Earthshot Prize ceremony.

The father-of-three confirmed the beaded wrist decoration with the words “Papa” on it was a special gift from his little girl, Princess Charlotte.

“This is I think a relic, if you like, from a Taylor Swift concert, that my daughter decided that she wanted to create a bracelet for,” he explained to British broadcasters in Cape Town.

“And she gave it to me when I came away. I’d promised I’d wear it and try not to lose it while I was out here.”

Not even the crown will spare you from Charlotte’s friendship, it seems, with King Charles also seen sporting a custom bracelet from his granddaughter in 2024.

During a trip to Guernsey, King Charles lifted his hand to wave to followers, and some eagle-eyed fans noticed what seemed to be a friendship bracelet made of red and white thread peering out from under his sleeve.
