A town restaurant has been named among the best in the nation by a prestigious guide.

    Lark, on Angel Hill, in Bury St Edmunds, placed 38th in the Good Food Guide’s ‘100 Best Local Restaurants 2026’.

    The listed venues were revealed at an awards ceremony at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London today.

    This is the third year running the restaurant has received the honour.

    The venue, run by James Carn, is no stranger to recognition, having gained a plethora of awards and inclusions on other lists of top restaurants, while also famously being lauded by top critic Jay Rayner.

    It was joined on the list by The Suffolk, in Aldeburgh, which placed 53rd.

    Wild Restaurant, in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, was the regional winner for the Central & East of England division.

    La Locanda, in Gisburn, Lancashire, was named overall winner.
