As someone who is adopted, this is very similar to what my mother told me while I was growing up. Often adopted children are told they’re so lucky but their parents are just as lucky too.
I really appreciate how she keeps her daughter’s name secret and clarifies that the process’ length makes sense. It’s obvious that she loves her daughter.

I wish she would use her stardom to speak on the failings of the adoption system. International adoptions have a lot of shadiness to them. American home adoptions can be incredibly difficult hence why people turned overseas. Maybe she could inspire reform
I know the “two ways to have a baby” expression is just an expression, but it is Important to reiterate that adoption is about providing children with the parents they need first and giving couples the children they want second. If the child can even stay with their own family if the parents have been lost, maybe even third. There is a definite sequence of priority.
When will this guy go away
I know a lot of adoptions can be really messed up for all different reasons but I love that she’s clearly in love with her daughter. She seems to be a really thoughtful and caring mom. I wish more adoptive parents were like that.

She was able to use her money and connections to get a newborn baby girl for herself, like a toy. If anyone knew how the privatization of infant adoption in this country is massive business and how private adoption agencies effectively steal infants from low income mothers and families, you wouldn’t be calling this anything but human trafficking. I think she’s a naive young woman and means nothing malicious but this is like a young woman buying herself a living baby doll or a puppy in my eyes.
I have no doubt she loves that kid with her whole heart, but adopting a baby at 21 is nuts and I cannot pretend otherwise.
I’m all for adopting but I can’t be the only thinking this is weird and very odd to do at 20+

My partner and I have always agreed that we would look into adoption if we couldnt conceive naturally but we’ve been really surprised by the judgment we’ve faced just for talking about it. People get incredibly weird about the idea of non-bio kids. I just know we are fully capable of loving and raising a child regardless of genetics
