Madonna may be controversial, but goddamn is she an icon. I will forever defend her right to make music the older she gets and will forever defend that she was a trailblazer in the industry.
It’s her best album in 20 years.
I think she had a dip in quality with her releases in the 2010s (maybe she was just putting out albums as a launchpad to tour), but everything about this new Confessions II era feels so much more intentional and purposeful with the music itself.
A hit album at 67? Iconic.
The fact that it’s genuinely one of her best releases this century is insane, but if anyone could do it, it’s the Queen of Pop.
