Princess Anne has extended an olive branch to her nephew, Prince Harry, that she hopes will help heal rifts within the royal family, a source tells Examiner.
“She’d really like the chance to sit down with Harry, just the two of them, because she thinks it’s time someone shook a bit of sense into him and she feels like he may actually listen to her,” says the source. “She’s always been the voice of common sense in the family and she and Harry have always had a good understanding of each other.”
The Princess Royal, 75, isn’t “planning to go into this on a soapbox. She genuinely wants to hear where Harry’s coming from and what his plan actually is,” the source notes. “She believes he really does want peace with the family, but she’s not impressed with the way he’s going about it and she wants to have a proper conversation with him to get that across.”

As Examiner previously reported, an insider says Anne doesn’t tend to interfere with family politics all that often, so when she does speak up and offer her opinion, it counts for a lot.
“She’d like to help steer him in the right direction, but this will only happen if he agrees to sit down with her alone,” reveals the source, without the 41-year-old royal’s wife Meghan Markle.
“Anne isn’t going to speak freely in front of Meghan. In her view, that would be far too risky,” the source explains. “No doubt that will upset Meghan, but Anne isn’t interested in sparing her feelings. Her focus is on sorting this out once and for all and she believes that can only happen if there are no outside influences.”
