Kim Kardashian Mourns “Gossip Buddy” Grandma MJ Shannon After Death | E! News

Kim Kardashian shared a heartfelt tribute to her grandma Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon, who died on July 16 at age 91. “My sweet Grandma MJ, my best friend, my gossip buddy, my forever twin,” she wrote on Instagram. “You taught all of us the importance of family, and those values are something we’ll carry with us forever!!!!! You were the woman who showed me what it meant to be a hardworking businesswoman.” Recalling how she spent her teenage years working at MJ’s children’s clothing store, the Kardashians star continued, “You were the woman who showed me what it meant to be a hardworking businesswoman.” Kim shared, “You always believed in me, championed me, and were my safe place. You truly were the matriarch of our family, and your love is woven into all of us. I know you’re at peace now.” The SKIMS founder ended her tribute with a loving nod to other late family members, including grandpa Harry Shannon, dad Robert Kardashian and aunt Karen Houghton, who died in 2024 at 65. “Give Papa Harry, Aunt Karen, and my dad a hug for me,” she added. “You will always be a part of me, I love you soooooo much and I will miss you forever and ever.” Born Mary Jo Campbell on July 26, 1934, MJ was also grandmother to Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner, as well as the great-grandmother to 13.
