Coronation Street spoilers follow from Friday’s episode (17 July), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet.
In tonight’s Coronation Street, Dylan Wilson deals with a growing backlash as word continues to spread about why his girlfriend Betsy Swain was rushed to hospital. Will the young couple’s lives ever be the same again?
Meanwhile, Kit Green looks for a way to regain the upper hand, and Tyrone Dobbs makes the wrong choice as Cassie Plummer continues to clash with newcomer Ross.
Read on for seven big moments from Friday’s episode…
1. Dylan continues to deal with the consequences
ITV
Outside Sean’s flat, Dylan is approached by the police and asked to come to the station for questioning. He’s quickly released without charge, though, after continuing to dismiss any link between his actions and Betsy’s two strokes.
Meanwhile, Fiz witnesses Dylan with the police and tips off Sean that his son could be in trouble.
2. Lauren steps in to deal with Dylan
ITV
Dylan is determined to see Betsy at the hospital, choosing a moment when Lisa and Carla aren’t around.
It’s left to Lauren to stand in the way instead – crushing Dylan as she lies that Betsy doesn’t want to see him.
3. Sean and Dylan desperately search for another explanation
ITV
Sean points out to Dylan that Brody visited Betsy on the morning of her collapse. He encourages Dylan to consider the possibility that Betsy cheated on him and was injured during sex with Brody.
Dylan publicly raises this as a possibility at the Rovers when Lauren refuses to serve him. He claims that he can’t be responsible because there was a significant delay between him and Betsy experimenting with strangulation during sex and her subsequent collapse – although doctors have already confirmed that this isn’t unusual in similar cases. Is Dylan in denial?
4. Kit makes a sneaky move
ITV
Kit catches up with his dodgy contact, after telling Sarah that he’ll make sure her and Gary’s phones are wiped of any incriminating data.
However, when Kit tells the tech whizz that he wants his own copy of Gary’s phone files, it’s clear that he may have another agenda.
5. Christina continues to keep secrets
ITV
The fallout from Christina’s fraudulent behaviour and spending sprees rumbles on, with Mary no closer to forgiving her after being embroiled in the drama.
However, when we see that Christina is still splashing the cash recklessly, it seems that Mary is right to be sceptical.
6. Tyrone makes a choice
ITV
Tyrone is dismayed to walk in on another heated clash between Cassie and Ross at the Dobbs house.
Cassie hopes that she can count on her son for support, but he shocks her by siding with Ross on this one. Will Cassie have to tell Tyrone the truth about why she won’t give Ross a chance?
7. Joseph gets some good news
ITV
Joseph fears that he’ll be bullied by Weatherfield High classmates if he’s forced to return after losing his position at private school Oakhill.
Fortunately, Gemma and Chesney soon reveal the happy news that Linda has managed to come up with the cash to fund Joseph’s school fees indefinitely.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
