Homer’s epic poem warns that accepting a gift can be a dangerous decision. But “The Odyssey” star Anne Hathaway was seemingly moved to tears by TODAY’s present for her baby-on-the-way.

During an interview July 16 alongside her onscreen son Tom Holland, Craig Melvin surprised Hathaway with a custom “Odyssey”-inspired crochet baby outfit. The ensemble, resembling battle armor, included a diaper cover, a cape and a helmet.

“When the child comes out, we want the child ready for battle,” Craig joked.

Hathaway appeared particularly excited about the cape included with the outfit.

“This is appropriately epic, thank you so much,” she said.

Holland was equally impressed by the crochet handiwork.

“Tom, when you have your child,” Craig said, before Holland added, “I know where to come. I’ll come right back here.”

Hathaway, 43, announced her pregnancy with baby No. 3 via Instagram in June. She and her husband Adam Shulman, who married in 2012, are already parents to sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6.

“x Baby, I’m yours x,” Hathaway captioned the clip of her showing off her baby bump for the first time, set to the tune of Barbara Lewis’ “Baby, I’m Yours.”

Prior to giving Hathaway her gift, Craig read a social media post praising the actor for balancing her packed slate of projects with her growing family.

“Anne Hathaway having 5 movies premiering this year and then announcing that she’s pregnant is the level of productivity that men can’t achieve,” the post on X read.

“I mean (men) are at a disadvantage,” Hathaway replied through laughter. “It’s just a literal truth.”

“It’s amazing,” Craig said, “You’ve made everyone else in Hollywood look and feel lazy.”

Hathaway said throughout her career she’s experienced peaks, valleys and “everything in between.”

“It’s just crazy to have a time like this where you pull these cards, and the thing that’s so exciting is they’re films that audiences want to see,” she said.

“To be a part of something, a part of year where so many people are just excited to go out, experience cinema,” she added. “And then yeah, to have this personal thing going on at the same time. It’s amazing.”

In the spring, Hathaway rolled out “Mother Mary” and “The Devil Wears Prada 2.” Now, she’s gearing up for the premieres of “The Odyssey,” “The End of Oak Street” and “Verity.”

“The Odyssey” hits theaters July 17.
