How about we all just stop caring about what they think? Our outrage fuels them. Don’t give them a thought.
I’ll bet you it won’t because most right wing people are normal people who typically like good movies. The militant complaining about this movie was always among a niche subset of very online chuds and groypers.
I’m pretty confident the most right wing people in my life have either a neutral or positive opinion of this movie. More don’t care than anything else.
Edit: Hell I’ll dig deeper. The Odyssey isn’t even woke – it’s actually super suffused with Christian sense of morality, redemption, and sin. And it’s cool for doing so because it’s our moral language

Nolan doesn’t care if people claim “woke” about the casting. He was like “yeah I’ll make a trans man a warrior and I’ll call him the bravest man who’s ever lived”. Now that’s some gender affirmation.

People who don’t see the movie are missing out. It is a pitty that anyone would let something like skin color or gender identity keep themselves from enjoying such a great film.

Lmao no not really. The movie had good advertising and drama around specific characters that ultimately led up to a nothing burger but a bunch of people making shit up about the cast. If anyone watches the movie you would understand that the right would be indifferent about any of the casting.
Giving conservatives too much credit. All of that will go over their heads and they will continue to complain of casting.
