Evil Dead Burn collected Rs. 1.30 crore on its 2nd Friday, recording a 35 per cent drop from the previous day. That’s a promising hold despite the release of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. The Hollywood horror film took its running cume to Rs. 26.75 crore gross at the Indian box office.
The movie is expected to make a sum of Rs. 5-7 crore on its second weekend, which will take its total cume over the Rs. 30 crore mark. It is heading to surpass the lifetime earnings of the franchise’s previous release. How far it can go at the box office will be determined by how it holds in the coming days.
Hollywood films are having a great run at the box office this year in India, with several non-anticipated and non-IP movies faring better than expectations and emerging as successful ventures: Project Hail Mary, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, Obsession, The Devil Weds Prada 2, Michael, and others.
