Sounds like it was a good decision to switch from drilling wells to microfinance.

water insecurity is far more common than you think, actually. my city, for a long time, had like 1/4 of the population with no sewage system and interrupted water supply (like idk, 3/4 million people?)
i lived in a neighborhood like this for a decade, it was a very average lower middle class area, but bad admin and expensive intervention meant we had to collect rainwater and time our usage because we would only get two or three days of water a week and our tank wasn’t too big
this is bad for many reasons, including obviously parasites, but issues like insane dust during drought periods, it was awful whenever anyone got sick and we couldn’t run the washing machine, etc etc
now that i’ve moved across town, while i still control my water usage because of the bills, it’s insane to be able to do laundry or wash my hair whenever

Is this water.org?
I’ cant play the video right now
However I know someone who was on the board of that ngo and she said he doesn’t do shit.
She wasn’t shit either so guess it all comes out in the wash! Pun intended.

Damon just bought an $8.5 million home in Bedford, NY (Westchester). His university friend ran for office in Bedford in 2024 as a MAGA republican whom Matt endorsed (he lost to the Democrat). He also bought the top two floors of the Standish in Brooklyn Heights NY for $18 million and has a $7 million condo in Los Angeles.
Hollywood is not “liberal”, many of them are fiscally conservative as they want the tax breaks. This is PR – a nice tax write off that gives them a shiny face for the public, yet at the end of the day it will always be about money.
I worked in the industry 07-10 in Los Angeles and grew up in those circles. I’m sorry and as much as it pains me to state it’s the truth. Money is all that matters in the end.

But why do charities need to provide clean drinking water? It’s a human necessity.
