I’ve been street-style spotting in Italy, keeping an eye on the summer trends celebrities are reaching for during the season’s hottest days. Dressing for a Mediterranean summer calls for fewer layers and a little more fun. With long evenings and sun-soaked days setting the tone, it feels only natural to swap the occasional wardrobe neutral for something with a little more personality—and, in my opinion, there’s no chicer way to do that than with a pair of gold sandals.
The elegant shoe colour caught my eye on two of Italy’s chicest visitors this week: Amal Clooney and Jennifer Lopez, who both stepped out in their own take on the gleaming trend.
