Dark Shadows is a gothic horror franchise that originated as a cult television soap opera in 1966, following the supernatural struggles of the Collins family and the tragic vampire Barnabas Collins. Over the decades, it expanded into films, novels, comics, and other media, becoming one of the most recognizable gothic franchises in popular culture.
The latest live-action adaptation was Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows (2012), starring Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins. The film reimagined the classic story with a mix of gothic horror, fantasy, and dark comedy, earning mixed reviews but finding a loyal audience over time. Although its ending left room for a continuation, no sequel was ever officially developed. Given the time that has passed, changing studio priorities, and the lack of any announced plans, a direct sequel is now considered highly unlikely, with any future Dark Shadows project more likely to be a reboot than a continuation of the 2012 film.

This reel is just horrible. While the audio is fine, the visuals, in no way, go along with the information the audio provides. If people don't know that much about the original tv series, they sure won't learn anything from this reel. The theatrical releases are not shown and there's no footage from the original tv series. All visuals are from Burton's dark comedy which is Dark Shadows in name only.
Eva and Helena Bonham Carter panned the soap opera, did a terrible job, and the Depp movie all but destroyed Dark Shadows for a decade, almost two decades, got the comic books cancelled, the audios' sales lowered and almost got the audios cancelled, and the restoration of the movie NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS cancelled permanently. Maven of the Eventide has a great review of it comparing it to the soap and the movie HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS. The new project is an animated series, possibly but NOT a live action. Having a Deep version second movie is incredibly wrong and not happening. Your video seems to try to give that impression. It will HURT DARK SHADOWS all over again and I suggest you redo this video. Depp and Burton were not fans–no fan would make that movie, it is that bad. They did NOT respect the source material at all.
