I’m confused, is it normal to sing the national anthem for the hosting country?
Edit: Thanks for the quick answer. I’ve never followed the World Cup so I just wanted to make sure this wasn’t some kind of tradition, like the Olympics opening ceremonies focusing on the hosting country.

Honest question for the international community. Is it common in your country for singers to turn your anthem into a performative pop song? It does happen here in Canada, but I feel like it is every time I see anybody sing the U.S. anthem at a notable event…
