Happy Sunday, and welcome to a new edition of “This Week, In a Galaxy Far, Far Away“. Spain just won the World Cup, and the only reason I care is that people will not let me sleep tonight. Once again, it’s been a rather quiet week on the Star Wars news front, and it seems like it will be just like this for the next weeks, if not months — save for the release of The Ninth Jedi series in August, and I guess the home release of The Mandalorian and Grogu.

However, this past week we did have the return of SWNN Live!, after Tyler wrapped his summer trip. Catch his and Tom’s chat on the latest Starfighter rumors here. Similarly, you can read Josh’s latest Character Spotlight on Weazel here. And just as every week, remember you can sign up for our Discord server here.

    Let us begin.

Three Things That May Have Flown Casual

All things The Mandalorian: Disney announced this week details for the home release of The Mandalorian and Grogu. It will be available to buy on digital next week, while the physical copies will come out in August. No details on the Disney Plus date yet. And we also had the announcement of a new LEGO Star Wars special on The Mandalorian coming out September 2 after screening at D23 — though it seems it will just be a retelling of moments of the three TV seasons in LEGO form.
Gaming updates: Not much here, but Steve Allison, Chief Business Officer of Saber Interactive, said this week that the Knights of the Old Republic remake that was announced in 2021 may actually come out in 2028. Sure…
Publishing updates: With less than one week to go for the San Diego Comic-Con panels, we already know one of the major books to be revealed will be called Star Wars: Twin Crossroads, and it will come out April 6, 2027. The third volume of the manga adaptation of Jedi: Fallen Order will also come out in December. On top of that, we had the announcement this week of a new nonfiction book titled Star Wars Icons: Vader. Finally, we also have Nate’s (glowing) review for Star Wars: Legacy, the Rey and Leia book that comes out on Tuesday, July 28, and Colin’s review for The Bad Batch: Rogue Agents #4.

    Have a great week.

Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as movies from Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
