We'd be eating grass and weeds along with the cows without farmers, proud of them. I've been growing various veggies since I was about 6 or7 I'm 77 now and just came in from watering my garden. My Dad taught me, he grew up on a farm until the depression hit.

Also, if someone gives a bunch of money to someone else, the person who gets the gift has to pay tax on it just as if it was income.
There is no "keeping it secret" from the person getting the gift.
The gift giver could also pay the tax, but it has to be paid on the tax return of the gift receiver. So it is impossible to give a large in secret and not cause a huge legal problem.
