Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra Silva made a rare public appearance at the World Cup final in New Jersey on July 19. The 76-year-old actor and his 43-year-old Spanish wife were there to show their support for Spain, who beat Argentina 1-0. Gere wore a red Spanish jersey with jeans and a gray cap and sunglasses, while his wife opted for a white Adidas top with dark red and yellow detailing, paired with a long brown skirt and heeled sandals.

Silva shared a number of photos from their date night out, including a photo of her 13-year-old son Albert from a previous marriage. Silva and Gere also share two sons, Alexander, 7, and James, 6, who were not pictured. In other photos, the couple was pictured posing on the pitch with a few Spanish players after the match.
“There are moments you know you’ll remember for a lifetime, and today we were incredibly lucky to experience one of them in New Jersey, surrounded by family, friends, and thousands of people sharing the same excitement,” Silva wrote in Spanish alongside the photos. “Watching Spain be crowned world champions was a mix of joy, nerves, hugs, and pride. It was one of those experiences that reminds you how wonderful it is to celebrate together and feel united by a shared dream. ❤️”

Silva, who married Gere in 2018, is a publicist with a special family connection to the sport, as her father, Ignacio Silva, was formerly the Vice President of Real Madrid Football Club.
Back in 2024, Gere and Silva relocated from the U.S. to Spain.
“For Alejandra, it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends and her culture,” he told Vanity Fair Spain. “She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers.”
The couple even got to post with the Spanish team and the trophy.
