The comedian visited The Village Butchers on July 14 to film season 10 of Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing.
The shop, run by Alex and Becky Fenton, featured in the filming as Bob bought some meat and chatted to staff.
Alex said: “He had so much time just even off camera, he was chatting away. and telling us about his life stories and it was great, really nice.

“They even ended up micing us up and we were chatting for quite a while. I just thought they’d come in and get some meat, I didn’t think I’d be filmed.”
Alex described him as a ‘really nice bloke’, who bought some venison and other meat, believed to be for a fishing segment of the show on the River Kennet.
When the shop was first contacted by the BBC a few weeks ago, Alex said he thought it was a prank phone call, and it wasn’t until follow-up phone call a few days before that he realised it was real.
Alex said: “All I can say is how nice he was and all the casting crew as well. They were really, really nice. We had locals still coming in shopping and they were really polite to everybody.
“They were a lovely group of people. It was really good and all the locals love Bob Mortimer.”
