    The Rookie is an American police procedural television series created by Alexi Hawley for ABC. The series follows John Nolan, a man in his forties, who becomes the oldest rookie at the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The series is produced by ABC Signature and Lionsgate Television; it is based on real-life LAPD officer William Norcross, who moved to Los Angeles in 2015 and joined the department in his mid-40s.

    The series stars Nathan Fillion (John Nolan), Alyssa Diaz (Angela Lopez), Richard T. Jones (Wade Grey), Titus Makin Jr. (Jackson West), Mercedes Mason (Zoe Andersen), Melissa O’Neil (Lucy Chen), Afton Williamson (Talia Bishop), Eric Winter (Tim Bradford), Mekia Cox (Nyla Harper), Shawn Ashmore (Wesley Evers), Jenna Dewan (Bailey Nune), Tru Valentino (Aaron Thorsen), Lisseth Chavez (Celina Juarez), Deric Augustine (Miles Penn), and Seth Ridley (Patrick Keleher). The Rookie premiered on October 16, 2018.

      I generally think you should ask a lawyer, but –
      "Hi I have a legal question, can I make a police report about this, I think this thing someone is doing is illegal but I don't know"
      "Ask Google"
      "Hi I have a legal question, I just saw them doing this behavior, I think it might be illegal but I don't know, can you go check it out?"
      "Ask Google"

      If I see something I think might be illegal but am not sure, but if it is it should be stopped immediately, like fishing somewhere that might be private, or some behavior that needs a permit or you can do in one place and not another, why not ask the cop if it's a problem, and to check it out? I'm mean if it's immediately happening in front of or near you and there is a cop nearbye, like if it all unfolded while walking down the street and you saw a cop.
      Otherwise in general ask a lawyer.

      "Hey I have a legal question, this guy is doing this is this a problem, it seems like it might be but I'm not sure and I don't want to have to research online only to find out I should have reported them too late after they've left when I could have just asked you since your right here officer"…

      So what if I want to ask a cop if something is enforceable? Like I see what might be a crime, and I want to know if it's worth reporting to them, should I wait to ask a lawyer because it's a legal question?
      Because it's, is this illegal and able to be reported, that's a legal question, guess I can't ask the cop? Even if I see something going down that might be illegal?
      I guess I just wait till I see a lawyer instead of finding a cop and asking if it's problematic behavior because they can't say what is illegal…

      My buddy is a cop. He would have quoted chapter and verse. He's memorized the entire legal code at this point. Every conversation and law and he cites the section from memory. And no matter how we try and stump him looking out up he's always right.
      He always laughs and says "12 years in the air force gives you a skill for memorizing regulations."

      Friendly reminder that police have no obligations to the public. They don’t have to help you, protect you, or serve you. They can however murder you with impunity.
