RAFAEL, world cup is finished. Now u can stop acting like u did anything memorable in the football tournament 👍

    4. I’m a woman and I played football in high school and college. He’s acting like men don’t do most of the bandwagoning.

    5. i feel like a lot of girls / women weren’t even pretending to understand football, i think they were pretty vocal about not understanding it actually. doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy the damn WORLD CUP.

    6. And this is why I hope Portugal never wins a (men’s) world cup. That and the whole rapist in the NT

Why does it feel like so many men, even the successful ones, have the mindset of an incel nowadays? So childish and stupid.

This is something I’d more expect from a 13 year old talking about “fake gamer girls” or something. Bro is 27.

From what I know, that’s not his Instagram. His handle on Instagram is @iamrafaeleao93, of his official account. Not sure if he has a private account, but it might just be AI or a fake.
Edit: lol it is a lesser known account, but he took it down. Well, he’s stupid.

    9. awww somebody’s mad they didn’t get any thirst trap edits like bellingham & olise

We really can’t win, huh. Aside from the many women who care and know quite a bit about it… God forbid a woman get excited and involved in something to share it with her friends or her partner; nope, FAKE FAN. But then the same type of man will get pissy if their girlfriend decides not to give a fuck about their favorite sport. OR get mad if their girlfriend indeed knows more about the game than they do. We literally can’t win.

    11. I mean the statement is misogynistic enough but to say it when he’s also not very good at football is insulting. We can all see those ratings after the game!

yes, bc only the highest-level intellectuals can understand something as complex and nuanced as….soccer.

i’m sure me (a woman) calling it soccer would also increase his blood pressure.

And yet women’s soccer is absolutely exploding in popularity and growing its fan base and revenue at a record pace. Such cliche and embarrassing misogyny.

I grew up with a Latino father who was soccer obsessed and played his entire life, as if soccer is real hard to understand bro 🙄

      Ick, I loathe the machismo

    15. that’s rich, considering that 90% of the dumbest conversations I’ve had about football (as a woman) have been with men.

he kicks a ball for a living. is this his way of trying to make it seem more difficult than it is?

My 22 year old daughter played since she was 3, and her hero has been Christine Sinclair—and I’m so proud of her. She doesn’t hero worship loser male athletes like this guy. In fact she was my entire source of info for the World Cup and even schooled me on why Harry Kane sucks and how cool Erling Haaland is lol Also she was more entertaining than most of the commentators! This guy can go kick rocks.
