When it comes to celebrities that were child stars, how Bridgit not only reshaped her career where she decided to retire from that path of becoming a bigger star in Hollywood will never fail to amaze me!

How much she managed to get into very tough and competitive schools, where she earned a Masters AND a PhD while also doing some work as an actress and singer is just next level when it comes to the meaning of hard work and dedication! That it almost surprises me that people don’t ask her how she pulled it off, unless she is purposefully rejecting interviews from Hollywood and wants to put that part of her life behind her!

But all of this makes me convinced that she NEVER sleeps haha.

This is normal for someone invested in academia & their field, idk. I appreciate her brightness though!

Why is this a topic the Internet recycles every three months. I have no desire to shit on her accomplishments but it feels falsely manufactured and bot-ish how often these tweets make the rounds.

Good for her for looking at child acting as exactly what it should be looked at: a hobby. Not too many child actors realize they can pursue other options, it’s very sad. Shirley Temple was another one that built a career outside of Hollywood.

I’m just musing here but if you had the ability to memorize lines like some of these people do, doesn’t that mean you would probably do pretty well academically as far as memorization?

    5. she’s great but it’s been beaten to death. it was “studied” years ago.

Her and Jonny Kim, the doctor/astronaut/Navy SEAL. Some people are just built differently

According to Wiki, her husbands last name is Cleverly (lol) and she’s Christine Blasey Ford’s niece. Christine, aside from bravely speaking out about rapist Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh, is a research psychologist at Stanford School of Medicine.

Just to add some clarity on stem PhD programs, they often get you a masters on the way to a PhD. It’s more of a requirement of the PhD than an additional accomplishment.

      Still all impressive nonetheless!

Hey if you enjoy it, slay those degrees. After my bachelors and masters, I decided no more schooling unless I work for an employer who pays for degrees. The loans aren’t worth it

When I say lock tf in, I mean have hundreds of thousands of dollars at your disposal for the best education in the world.
Her career is seriously impressive, I just hate the assertion that an education like this is a matter of locking in and not of wealth or standing.

Not as shocking as when I found out the lead singer of The Offspring had a PhD in molecular biology.

Why can’t some people just be happy for others? Her degrees don’t affect anyone else here but there’s already some comments trying to belittle her accomplishments.

Getting earning her phd at MIT at the same time as her jd from Harvard *IS* impressive! Is it bc she’s pretty? Or just plain old envy?

    14. Amazing for Bridgit! I was looking forward to her concert tour in 2017 and suddenly found out she cancelled, different life trajectory. POWER still put out a great show!

    15. Seems like she used her Disney channel money too go get that education, which is a badass move.

Doesn’t she not actually have her PhD? JD is still impressive though

Plus she’s actively working on her own space company to stop the privatisation that’s occurring atm. Already has the satellite part of it down, and wants to look into space exploration. She’s a busy woman

She’s very cool indeed but to correct the weird parasocial side of things in the “comparison is the thief of joy” for anyone seeing this and thinking all of these were attained:

She dropped out of USC so never got that degree.

She did get the master’s and JD. Which is amazing!

She is on leave from the PhD and has not earned that degree, it seems she pivoted to be CEO of a space tech company instead.

She is very impressive but bear in mind ahe will also have benefited greatly from her child star status in all of these endeavors, s
      o don’t get discouraged

Doctor of Philosophy at mit while getting a Harvard law degree is unthinkable

It’s amazing what having money and connections does for a person.

Following the Shirley Temple pathway. There is precedent! She became a diplomat for the UN and was involved in other high-level politics as an adult!
