Best known for her role as Jia in Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Kaylee became a fan favorite for her powerful on-screen presence and authentic representation of the Deaf community. Her father, Jonathan Hottle, confirmed the news during a Facebook livestream on July 21, revealing that Kaylee was involved in a fatal car crash in Maryland during the early morning hours. According to Jonathan, authorities informed him that Kaylee’s heart stopped while she was being transported to the hospital. He shared the devastating update in American Sign Language while preparing to travel from Texas to claim his daughter’s body. Born into a multigenerational Deaf family, Kaylee broke barriers in Hollywood through her work. After being discovered during a commercial shoot in 2017, she landed the role of Jia in 2021, portraying a Deaf girl who communicates with Kong using ASL. She was the passenger riding in a vehicle, driven by an unidentified male. Speed was a contributing factor. The car crashed into a culvert on the right side of the road.
And so our hearts has been shattered again losing another actor of Godzilla and Kong she was just a child in 2020 and now she has died too soon after years later our national treasure an old friend has entered the heavens rest in peace play you never deserve to die if only you would have lived to see the future she was precious to us all she was loved by all who meet her and now she is gone turn everything hurts 10 times worse
