Olivia Wilde: “I witnessed a tornado from the inside” | The Louis Theroux Podcast

Born To Be Wilde! Wilde At Heart! Wilde Thing! The caption writes itself when your guest is Olivia Wilde and it’s late and you’re rushing to finish and send something over to the social media team… “But what about her new film, which everyone is talking about, The Invite?” The one starring Penelope Cruz, Edward Norton, Seth Rogen, and Olivia herself – and which Olivia directed? We talked about that! “And her other films, Booksmart and Don’t Worry Darling?” We dug into those too! And also Jordan Peterson, competitive eating, and why Jennifer Lawrence vommed during Olivia’s theatrical turn in 1984 on Broadway. And much else besides. We think you’ll go Wilde about this episode!!! Watch on Spotify or listen wherever you get your podcasts.

    1. Say what you will about her, but I admire anyone who survived what Jason Sudekis did to her, both during and after their relationship.

    2. It seems the film was viciously attacked for reasons I don't understand. Yes, it's an imperfect film but not bad at all! You should give it a look. I will give it 4 of 5 stars easily.

    3. When you kinda maybe recognise the name, but still you think this is someone who was inside a literal tornado and they're talking about that experience.

So blessed that I know very little about unimportant mainstream entertainment celebrities.

    4. Didn't she lie about firing Shia LaBeouf from her film because of his behaviour, and after the fact it came out that she didn't, in fact actively wanted to cast him, and just said it afterwards to look better in the public eye? Yeah… that's why Hollywood people are weirdos, especially those always loudly claiming to be social activists or whatever.
