2026 World Cup: Messi Shares Message to Supporters as Spain Returns Home With $51M Bonus
The FIFA World Cup now comes with a record payday! Spain took home $51 million in prize money after their victory. FIFA awarded $871 million across all 48 teams in this year’s tournament, making it the richest World Cup ever. Runner-up Argentina took home $34 million of that and their star player, Lionel Messi, took to Instagram to thank supporters. He opened up about what a painful loss it was, but expressed pride in his country reaching back-to-back World Cup finals.
