Just some colloquial context – the Australian legal system takes defamation cases very seriously, especially those involving public figures (usually its politicians that are involved though, not general celebrities), so this isn’t actually a very surprising outcome.

As an Australian this is a baffling decision. It makes zero sense within the judgment. (People didn’t believe Rebel because she’s not trustworthy. Oh but the court believes Rebel who said Charlotte complained and then changed her story. Over Charlotte)
Taken into account with the Brittany Higgins decision I’m so confused.
Really interesting read. Australian and former law student. Defamation is a tricky one here especially after the rush case.

Defamation is a hard thing to prove in a court of law.
Yes, she won, but her secret is out and this is going to be a nail in her career’s coffin.
