After reports claiming Meghan Markle had given Prince Harry an ultimatum about one aspect of their relationship, insiders now allege that the couple is “living separate lives.”
“They’re living very separate lives now,” an insider told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice. “It’s gone beyond work schedules. They have different priorities, different routines, and they’re spending much less time together than people realize.”

Back in May, insiders alleged that Meghan “finally told Harry he needs to step up financially,” allegedly leaving him with no choice but to do something to “keep the money flowing.” However, in the weeks that followed, Harry suffered another financial blow after losing a years-long legal battle with Daily Mail’s publisher, Associated Newspapers, over allegations of breached privacy.
Reports estimate that Harry and the other claimants incurred around $67 million in legal costs, prompting speculation that the Duke of Sussex will be leaning on a celebrity friend to help cover costs.
Thus, Shuter’s sources are now noting that Meghan and Harry are making more and more solo appearances in recent months. “Nobody knows what will happen next,” another source said. “But people around them aren’t talking about whether they’re spending time apart anymore. They’re wondering whether this marriage can survive it.”
Harry recently travelled to the UK for a solo trip to launch the one-year countdown for the 2027 Invictus Games. Meghan, who has been focused on her own business ventures in recent months, later joined him with their two children for a private reunion with King Charles, but didn’t appear in any public capacity.
Harry’s solo outings have prompted insiders to note his changed demeanour when Meghan isn’t around. “When Harry is on his own, he seems like a different person,” said another source. “He’s more relaxed, more spontaneous, and much more like the prince people remember. Friends have noticed the change.”
