    Chadwick Boseman’s Family Sues His Widow to Distribute His Assets | E! News

    Chadwick Boseman’s family is in legal turmoil. Nearly six years after the ‘Black Panther’ actor died of colon cancer, his brothers Kevin Boseman and Derrick Boseman filed a lawsuit on behalf of their parents to suspend and remove Chadwick’s widow Taylor Simone Ledward as the administrator of his estate, according to the filing obtained by E! News. E! News has reached out to Taylor’s attorney for comment but has not yet heard back. In the docs, Kevin and Derrick allege that Taylor has not properly distributed the late actor’s assets, including more than $3.8 million in cash and other assets, despite a 2022 court order to distribute 25 percent of his estate to each of Chadwick’s parents Leroy Boseman and Carolyn Boseman. “Nearly four years later, [Taylor] has still not distributed the estate,” the July 17 filing read. “[Taylor] continues to exert unilateral control over Decedent’s estate, denying Decedent’s family long overdue closure or participation in decision-making regarding matters affecting Leroy and Carolyn’s interests in Decedent’s estate.” Taylor listed Chadwick’s total worth as including $151,000 in cash, $241,000 in an IRA account and $3.3 million worth of stock for Chadwick Boseman, Inc. And according to the 2022 court order, included in the filing, the court found that Taylor’s list of his assets was “true and correct” and noted that she waived her administrator’s fee.       Weddings and funerals, bring out the worst in people (even years after the funeral) Chadwick was such a brilliant actor, outstanding humanitarian, full of integrity and honor! He carried himself with grace, and left this world a little bit better, for having been here! Now here comes the foolishness! Rest in God Black Panther! 🙏🏾🕊️🤎🤎

      Seen this coming. She quickly married him just before he passed so that she could inherit his estate and completely take over his legacy. Now that will become her entire identity because her claim to fame is being Mr. Boseman's wife for all of 5 minutes.

      He knew what he was doing, married her days before he died, essentially giving her legal access to his estate. She was the one who was taking care of him after all.

      No matter how many times we tell people to create a will or trust, this situation continues to happen time after time, especially with black folks. Get your itsh together and in order before something happens. Your assets do not have to be probated by a judge.

      I already knew this was coming. Chad and Simone were together about 5 years total, married about 2 months. He made no changes to update anything. If he hadn’t gotten married, everything automatically would’ve went straight to his elderly parents. But, because he got married shortly before death, she was able to apply for limited administration over the estate. I’m glad the brothers are stepping in as assignees to help their parents. A Judge will review all of this and see if Simone did not do what she was supposed to do regarding Chads parents. If she didn’t, hopefully, another person will be appointed over the estate and any errors will be corrected.
