There’s been a looooooot of chatter about Prince Harry’s fractured relationship with King Charles over the years, but apparently Prince William also doesn’t get along with his dad. And things have been increasingly tense, ahem.
Royal expert Hugo Vickers spoke to Page Six about the father-son duo’s strained relationship, saying “The problem with William is that he thinks he knows best.” Meanwhile, expert Robert Jobson added, “William has to rise above it all if he’s going to be king, and both he and Charles know they have to work together. There’s a lot of decisions that Charles will make that will affect William.”

While the pair meet together regularly, sources say they have “eternal battles.” Back in February, Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop reported that things between them were “icy at best and explosive at worst,” and a source said tensions are “worse than they’ve been in years,” adding “It’s very bad at the moment. There’s real anger on both sides.”
So, what’s the issue, exactly? Apparently, it all boils down to a good old-fashioned power struggle. And it’s been a problem for a while. Last year, Us Weekly reported that Charles was “not thrilled” about the narrative that William’s in control, and a source said, “He doesn’t feel great about it, as he has finally attained the position he has waited for his whole life. Now that he’s king, everyone is focused on who will come next. Charles wants William to succeed, but William can be strong-minded and stubborn.”
I mean, at least they’re on speaking terms?
