    1. thats so funny to think that everyone just got awkward when he actually did that set, but its such a good bit in the film. He knows what hes doing and he doesn’t care what people think. love that.

Riverview Hospital has been in many, many films and television shows over the years. The closure of the hospital has been a decades-long debate, with politicians still calling for it to be reopened. The hospital didn’t fully close until 2012, but it had begun downsizing and closing portions back in the ’80s.

It was the largest psychiatric hospital in the province and one of the few long-term facilities. At its height, it had thousands of beds. Nothing took its place, and the Lower Mainland has struggled to adequately care for our most vulnerable citizens since its closure.

There were, of course, horrible abuses and barbaric treatment of patients like forced sterilizations and lobotomies. But it was also considered a progressive facility in its time, and a model of modern psychiatric care. It operated for over 110 years before it fully closed down. Such a great Christmas movie. This scene never fails to crack me up. That and when he’s dancing with the warehouse workers

I’ve been enjoying his calmer interviews lately where he isn’t doing a bit. Makes me like him more. Don’t get me wrong, stepbrothers is in my 4 top letterbox movies and I’m a big SNL fan. But it’s nice seeing him as himself as opposed to a persona lately
