Ryan Gosling is back on the bike. He’ll be playing Johnny Blaze for the upcoming Ghost Rider reboot for the MCU, as announced during Marvel’s Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. It will be directed by Shawn Levy and is planned to be released sometime in 2028. “I’m having the greatest flashback vibes here, because I was here two years ago when we showed Deadpool & Wolverine,” Levy stated on stage, per Variety. “I’ll never forget that night, because I was introduced to the greatest fans. Gosling is the absolute shit. I say that with tremendous respect. We spent a lot of time last year making Starfighter, and the opportunity as Ryan started talking about this character, I was like, ‘Bro let’s ride.’ We’ll see you in 2028!” Gosling will be the third star to portray the Ghost Rider on screen; the first was Nicolas Cage for the Sony adaptation, and the second was Gabriel Luna in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Gosling has the perfect scene partner to practice with at home: his wife, Eva Mendes, who starred in the original film alongside Cage. Family reunion, incoming?
