Crown Prince Pavlos took to Instagram to post about the day, which saw the baptism of three-month-old Robert – son of Pavlos’ nephew, Robert Maximilian Getty, and his wife, Anna. The Prince described the ‘beautiful family service’ at Dormition Hamptons, a Greek Orthodox church, and announced that his daughter Olympia would be taking on godmother duties alongside Conrad Getty, Robert Maximilian’s brother, who has been chosen as godfather.
The family connection is on Princess Marie-Chantal’s side: her older sister, Pia, was married to Christopher Getty, grandson of industrialist John Paul Getty, whom she divorced in 2006. Together, they had four children – Isabel, Robert Maximilian, Conrad and Maximus.
Olympia appeared visibly moved as she took part in the service, which was followed by an elegant family reception, held in a peaceful garden. If Olympia’s 30th birthday was anything to go by, the young Getty scion will have some impressive parties thrown by his godmother in the years to come.
