Charli xcx bidding for her second Number 1 album of the year with Music, Fashion, Film

But there is competition coming from all angles, including Snow Patrol with the classic, Eyes Open (2). The album is fighting for the top spot once more after an expanded 20th anniversary edition of the record was dropped on Friday.  

Official Charts recently reported that Eyes Open, the biggest album of 2006, hit over 10 million global sales and was also awarded with the first ever Official Charts Hall of Fame Award as part of this year’s 70th anniversary celebrations of the Official Albums Chart.  

Can Eyes Open create another piece of history this week?  

Canadian country royalty Shania Twain currently sits at Number 3 with Little Miss Twain. This could earn the singer-songwriter a seventh Top 10 LP.  

New York rockers The Strokes made a welcome return after six years with Reality Awaits, with the release currently on course to finish inside the Top 10 (4).   

He’s back? One of the UK’s most important and poignant rap voices in Nines may find his surprise album Lost Tapes, containing a multitude of unreleased hits from across his career, permeating the Top 20 (10). Nines announced in 2024 that he was retiring, so could Lost Tapes being Nines’ final farewell present?

Meanwhile, fellow artist Songer will be hoping WHAT IF I SAY NO? earns the Reading born starlet his best performing project to date (22).  

Looking to follow up the success of her self-titled 2024 debut is TYLA on sophomore record, A*POP (39).  

There could be a return for James Marriott’s 2023 LP Are We There Yet? (31) and a maiden entry for his 2022 EP, Bitter Tongues (40). This comes after he dropped brand-new vinyl variants for each record.  

Other former albums that could make a return to the main standings include Luke Combs’ The Way I Am (30), with the American set to visit Wembley Stadium for a three-night run this week, as well as British legacy group Keane with Under The Iron Sea following the release of a boxset, zoetrope vinyl and 3CD collector’s edition of the project to celebrate its 20th anniversary (35).
