      All things considered, the dude made out just fine. Alternatively he could have demanded a higher salary and lost out on the role. So many people lose out because they think the money is more valuable than the experience. You cant eat experience but its *A LOT* harder to come by than food. Especially for young people these days. I worked essentially for free for the first 3 years of my career. Im doing pretty good now but it took a very long time to get established in 08 and no, i didn’t have rich parents to help.

      So Harvey had the original rights and got paid 60. Then newline tried to say they didnt make money to pay jackson and he had to sue them. A lot of the salaries I’ve heard were pretty low so yea I can belive this. Man has a few kids right. And no known expensive vices. If samwise cant make it how can anyone. How will institutional knowledge be passed on?

      While I empathize with his plight he made the decision to not ask for more money, and he made the decision to purchase a house requiring a $250K mortgage, aka a bit more than $20,000 a month. That’s on him.

      While his upfront salary was incredibly low, New Line Cinema did not leave the cast completely empty-handed after the movies became a multi-billion dollar cultural phenomenon. The studio paid out substantial financial bonuses and promotional bumps to the principal cast to ensure goodwill and help them promote the franchise long-term.

      They are leaving out that they all signed back end heavy contracts. They went bananas promoting the series and it made a fuck ton all the actors made millions after the movies came out

      $250K a year in Encino was a 4 million dollar house in 2000. Why would he buy that house when he was only making 75K a year? That house would be worth around $12 million today.

      I wonder if the writer is mixing up his 250K house with his 250K salary?

      Bro negotiated a crazy high price for a house and a crazy low rate for his acting to pay for said house. I feel bad for the guy because Sam is such a lovable character but the situation seems to be one of his own making.

      People do straight up assume if they recognise you as an actor you are working for fun at that point and your set for life.
