We’re just days away from the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but that hasn’t stopped Sadie Sink’s mystery character from finally being spoiled.
Sink was cast in the film way back in March 2025, and her character has been tightly under wraps ever since. Naturally, that sparked a frenzy of fan theories, with many believing Sink is playing none other than Jean Grey.
But, thanks to a red carpet interview at the Marvel Phase 6 film’s premiere, we now seemingly know for sure exactly who Sink is playing. Spoilers for Spider-Man: Brand New Day follow!

When asked which character he was most excited to see, musician Steve Lacy replied: “You know what, Jean. I like Jean. She’s the villain, but there’s a reason to her madness, and I like her. I like her character, I like her character, I don’t know why.”

In fairness, this isn’t strictly confirmation that Sink is playing Jean Grey – just that Jean is apparently in the movie. But, it would be a pretty weird coincidence if Jean wasn’t played by Sink at this point.

It also seems to be confirmation of just who the film’s mystery villain is, too.
First reactions to the film are also in from the premiere, and they’re particularly glowing, saying it’s like a “mini Avengers film.” With Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, and Sink’s (possible) Jean Grey all part of the line-up, that seems like a fitting comparison.
