Princess Anne’s new daughter-in-law paired the dress with a yellow leather handbag from Anya Hindmarch and a pair of Manolo Blahnik suede pumps, learning from the best when it comes to designers favoured by the royal family.

The elegant gown was constructed using three different elements, a square-neck column underdress, a delicate lace overjacket and a 10ft-train, which took months of planning and hundreds of hours of work to complete. ‘We aligned on something authentic, traditional and modern,’ the designer said of the gown, in an interview with British Vogue. The finished piece, adorned with wildflower motifs, drew comparisons to the Princess of Wales’ Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen creation in 2011.
