Madonna’s daughter, Mercy James, is a working girl and calls one of her mom’s enemies boss.
The 20-year-old, whom Madonna adopted in 2009, is reportedly working behind the scenes Watch What Happens Live (WWHL), Bravo’s late-night talk show which is hosted by Andy Cohen.

Mercy’s job was first revealed by comedian Rosie O’Donnell when she opened up about her long-standing friendship with Madonna in a July 22 interview with People. “We text each other often, and I just saw her daughter on Watch What Happens Live,” O’Donnell shared. “Her daughter, Mercy, works there.”
“And it’s funny, Andy goes ‘look!’ And I thought he was introducing me to just a staff member,” said O’Donnell. “And I was like, ‘Hi, what’s your name?’ And she goes, ‘Rosie, it’s Mercy!’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, what are you doing here?'”
O’Donnell added, “But she’s worked there for like a year or so. So I was very happy for her and proud of her.”
A source told the Daily Mail that Mercy “is lovely, just the sweetest most adorable girl.”
Madonna and Cohen have a tongue-in-cheek beef with one another stemming from her refusal to appear on Watch What Happens Live despite his dream of having her as a guest.
“Madonna still has not done the show. I’m actually kind of over it because in my Notes app, I was keeping a long list of interview questions for her in case she ever did the show, and she’s kind of answered a lot of it,” Cohen said during a July 2023 appearance on The Howard Stern Show. The Bravo legend revealed that he once reached out to her about coming to see her perform and received a snappy reply, “She said to me ‘Stop having people trash me on your show.'”
Later that year, Madonna called Cohen out while he was in the audience of her Celebration Tour at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. “If you say one more bad thing about me on your show, you’re gonna get in so much trouble,” the “Material Girl” singer joked from the stage. “You little troublemaking queen!”
Mercy is the fourth of Madonna’s six children. She shares 29-year-old Lourdes with ex-boyfriend Carlos Leon, 25-year-old Rocco and 20-year-old David with ex-husband Guy Ritchie. She went on to adopt Mercy and 13-year-old twins Stella and Estere as a single mother.
