After a bit of a wait, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is now streaming in the UK. So if you were one of the few who didn’t catch the fashion-oriented comedy-drama on the big screen, you can now watch the action unfold from the comfort of your own home.
The film is set two decades after the events of its predecessor, and sees Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) return to Runway magazine as she takes over the features department in an ever-changing media landscape.
Naturally, she reunites with editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) and right-hand man Nigel Kipling (Stanley Tucci), while Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) has landed a role at fashion house Dior.

The quartet aren’t the only ones to return, with Aline Brosh McKenna and David Frankel once again writing and directing the film, respectively. We also have some new cast members in the shape of Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Kenneth Branagh and Lucy Liu.
After being released in cinemas in May, the film is streaming in the UK on Disney+, having been added to the service today (29 July). The cheapest subscription is £4.99 per month, though Sky has an Ultimate TV package where you can bundle it with Netflix.
In addition to being a commercial success, where it grossed over $690 million worldwide, The Devil Wears Prada 2 was generally praised by critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has an approval rating of 78% from 342 reviews, which is actually 3% higher than the first film.
In Digital Spy’s three-star review, we dubbed it a “rare nostalgic sequel that justifies its existence”, adding: “The sequel has added value beyond just reuniting with our favourites and throwbacks to previous gags and iconic lines
“[It’s] at its strongest when the main four are sharing the screen. Streep, Hathaway, Blunt and Tucci all slip effortlessly back into their roles like they’re popping on a comfy pair of Louboutins,” we noted.

Aside from its fabulous costumes and luxurious locations, the comedy-drama was also notable for coming 20 years after its predecessor, and Frankel outlined one major reason as to why this was the case.
“For almost two decades, we just didn’t have a good enough idea. There was no way anyone could convince us to meet with Meryl Streep to pitch her a bad idea. I mean, would you?” he quipped.
