“Being who you are, loving who you want, that’s normal, isn’t it?” Was part of her speech during the event. The sign she is holding reads “love knows no boundaries”.
She’s my favourite Royal and it totally makes sense to me that she would have a blast at Pride.

Whether you agree with it or not, it is refreshing to see a public figure show up, engage with people, and support the idea that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

I’m just against the Dutch monarch tbh. They went on “vacation” to Greece during covid and their eldest daughter got 1,6 million euro allowance from our tax money for her 18th birthday.

Monarchies should be abolished but as long as they’re still here I think it’s a positive thing to see a queen openly support the lgbtq+ community. And in the case of Maxima, I believe her support is genuine. Not a vague comment of support but full blown, visible, audible support.

According to my mom my great grandmother used to think she was always edited in pictures with our King because she couldn’t believe “such a gorgeous woman would marry such an ugly man”
I’m not a fan of the monarchy but nice that she is at world pride!

It is a funny coincidence that both the king and the prime minister of the Netherlands are married to Argentinians.

Now who’s the handsome fella in the blue shirt next to her?

Dutch person/American here – it’s nice to see a queen be so accepting and seems actually genuine. HOWEVER there is still so much homonationalism in NL + this idea that you have to fit their western idea of what a queer person should look like esp for asylum seekers
