Maybe like 15 years ago it would work, but why now

well he’s about 20 years too old to play George, so… is he gonna be the dog? the robot?

There was a time that I was saying when are they going to make a Jenson’s movie?!? I was like 7 and it was 30 years ago.

He seems a bit of a weird choice for George Jetson, but I guess they might be aging up the kids to be young adults or something to make more sense?

Keep him away from revivals and adaptions please – signed, a girl still traumatized by Jim Carrey as Count Olaf.

Putting Jim Carey in a film is a sure-fire way to kill the minimal interest I have in seeing a movie.

Jim Carrey announcing his retirement only to continue acting but exclusively in wacky ass children’s IP movies has got to be one of the most boss moves of all time

I’m actually here for it. Loved The Jetsons, loved the live action Flintstones movies.. and I honestly don’t even see the point of getting disgruntled over a movie. Like it’s just entertainment, it doesn’t have to be so serious.

The media: “Why is nobody going to movie theaters anymore?” Movie studios: *live action Jetsons movie starring Jim Carrey*

If Danny Devito isn’t Mr. Spacely, no one will see this movie.

Anti-vax and some other pretty dark shit, including all of his abuse in the name of “method acting” on the set of Man on the Moon has me so sick of this man. Idec about him not fitting the role here, I just wish he would stop floating the idea and just retire.

live action jetsons with jim carrey actually sounds unreal, wild to see that happening post 2027

Hey I was excited because I didnt the dee word live actionÂ
The Jetsons in 2026 is so funny to me. They really can’t get studio/investor money for anything new…
Anyway, shoutout to the Jetsons Movie, I loved that when I was a kid, and I still get [“You and Me” by Tiffany ](https://youtu.be/M_Pt-0AYbj4)stuck in my head every so often.

Never forget that Jane is canonically 30 and her daughter is 14. Feel free to do that math.

because Masters of the Universe did so well. And that was newer.

This would have been excellent casting 30 years ago when the show still has a presence, I know studios are digging into old IP for projects, but this one is puzzling. I’m an elder Millennial and caught The Jetsons in syndication as a young kid at my grandparents, but we watched things like; Darkwing Duck, Rescue Rangers, Gargoyles, and other Saturday morning cartoons. This feels like a Boomer wants to resurrect a cartoon from their youth.

Dude, I was at a work event and my boss my a reference to the Jetsons (as a joke) and no one got it. Let me tell you the whole group was a mixed with boomers, gen x, millennials, and gen z.
(edit) I remember when Boomerang would play reruns of the show but I never had the interest to watch it, along with the Flintstones, Top Cat, Huckleberry Hound, etc.

The Jetsons are where my brain goes when I think about how horribly capitalism has failed us. We were promised that technology will make our lives easier & will make our jobs simpler and our stay-at-home spouses could pass housework on to a robot.
All of that depended on the fruits of technology’s labour being fairly shared with the proletariat. Instead, we have billionaires and trillionaires using technology to eliminate the necessity of employing the proletariat, and the rest of us need multiple income streams just to scrape by.
This movie will be a slap in the face.

I can’t believe I really thought by now we’d be able to stand up and have that makeup and hair robot. I thought we’d press a button for those back to the future awesome Pizza Hut pizzas.
For years after the Flintstones movie, I was telling people Kevin Spacey would make a good George Jetson.
If only he hadn’t……gotten so old. 🤣

Odd choice tbh… I’m 35 and haven’t seen the Jetsons on TV in about 30 years. Nobody under my age knows what it is.

a lot of weird reactions from people thinking this is too late to pull off lmao? this cartoon has been a part of pop culture for over 60 years, i think they are going to be okay lol
