Ecocide: destruction of the natural environment by deliberate or negligent human action.
And guess what? It should be a crime.
Just like destroying property, is a crime? Yes. Because the environment is the most precious “property” we have.
It is time international law had more “teeth” generally, so that people responsible for such crimes can be sanctioned effectively to safeguard all of our futures.
